DVR's (Digital Voice Recorders)

The most widely used device in Paranormal Investigations.
With a standard DVR (Digital Voice Recorder), we are able to pick up disembodied voices that aren’t typically heard by the human ear alone. The sensitivity of these devices pick up higher frequencies and converts them to an audible frequency, allowing us to hear those strange voices we hear in the night.
The audio clip that is created is placed into Audio Editing Software where we can enhance the waveform making it clearer and easier to hear. Some will call this
Pareidolia, or hearing common sounds in noise, but the voices we hear are typically speaking very precise words with vocal tone and inflection. It’s pretty difficult to write off as hearing something that isn’t there… |

EMF (ElectroMagnetic Field) Detectors

Next to the EVP Device comes the EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) Detector.
Everything, everywhere, is made up of energy. The smallest atomic particles are energy. Our bodies, organs, brain, everything is energy, including our
consciousness. If you know anything at all about science, then you know that energy is neither created or destroyed. It can only transform into different forms of energy (that might give you a clue on what happens when we die…), and again, its movement can create magnetic fields.

The Magnetic Field, which is described as: “A region around a magnetic material or a moving electric charge within which the force of magnetism acts.”
So, it is believed that spirits give off an electric charge and, as they move, create a magnetic field. When these spirits are near, or around you, you may feel a cold spot caused by the spirit using the energy around it, as well as your energy, and you may pick up the magnetic field being generated by the spirit(s)..
The EMF Detector picks up these magnetic fields, and you are able to read the changes in the field. |

Exposure Limits
*Something to be aware of while around higher EMF Fields:
Alternating fields with an extremely low frequency generate an electric current in the body. If the alternating fields are strong enough, this generated current can disrupt the functioning of nerves and muscles in the body and cause flashes of light in the field of vision. According to the recommendation of the Council 1999/519/EC, the following threshold values must not be exceeded by the fields so that these effects do not occur:
● For the electric field, the limit is 5 kilovolt per meter (5000 V/m or 5 kV/m)
● For the magnetic field, the limit is 100 microtesla (100 µT).
The electric and magnetic fields, which surround us in daily life, are most of the time far below the limits.
You can read more below about the exposure in daily life and how the recommendations of the Council were applied in the Belgian regulation.
The purpose of the exposure limits is to prevent immediate harmful effects at the level of the nervous system. There are still not enough scientific data to tell us if other (harmful) effects are possible in the long run.

So, when you’re using these devices and start seeing spikes at very high levels, it’s a good idea to remove yourself from the area, as it can be very harmful to your body. |

Paranormal Investigating requires a great many things:
● Courage
● Strength
● A Sound Mind
● An Open Mind
● Not being scared of the dark
● Being able to hold your ground
● And finally, being able to see in the dark
Most of our investigations require that we be in pitch black ( or as close as we can get to it ) conditions. Investigating during the night helps with that, as spirits ( ghosts, entities, souls, etc. ) are more active during these times. I have heard many people explaining it this way and that, but, I have always had a scientific mind and have been studying Quantum Theory/Physics/Mechanics for some time now. It has helped me to understand a great many things that we typically don't understand. The Quantum Sciences deal with several elements, such as: energy, gravity, spacetime, and more.
Focusing on energy, I have learned a lot about it and how it works. So, I have my own theories on why it's easier to see and contact spirits at night.
Basically, everything slows down at night. Most people are in bed sleeping, so there's not a lot of energy being used up and thrown around. The birds, squirrels, and other animals are typicalls sleeping as well, so you don't have those noises floating around in the background. Everything pretty much settles down, and as a result, your senses are heightened. You can hear from much further away, and sounds around you that are too faint to hear during the day are audible.
One very important thing happens as well; your sixth senses kick in, allowing you to pick up on the little nuances of energy around you. Those feelings of being watched, touched, feeling as if people are around you in an empty room. And your eyesight adjusts to the darkness: your pupils dilate allowing more light to pass through your retinas, and you're able to see the small differences between the darkness, and things that are darker that your surroundings; shadows.
That being said, night time
IS the best time for these investigations!

I purchased two of these goggles thinking they would be perfect to strap to your face and be able to see as you walk around in dark locations.
But when they arrived and I tried a set out, not so much.
I didn't read enough about them, and had thought they would be actual IR binoculars that you strap on your face and walk around like the Navy Seals or something. Instead, they have a decent sized LCD screen just as a video camera would.
So, I didn't get those rad Special Forces night vision goggles, But I did get a pair of really high quality IR Cameras! And they have the connections for a tripod, and hold those little micro-sd cards, which are very much needed since the HD (4K) Videos are rather large files! A 32GB micro-sd card would probably get you a half hour - an hour long video, then it would be full! I keep 128GB micro-sd cards in there so that I'm not having to switch cards out every 30 minutes!

As much as we love doing this just for fun, we also know that many people in Central Colorado have problems with their homes being "haunted," or they (or someone else within the household) are having issues with a single spirit. Or many! And they just don't know what to do, or who to contact about it. Most people think that if you call someone and tell them you have ghosts, they'll be laughed off and/or ridiculed! So, we created this website (and I am still creating it) for people to get a hold of someone who will listen. |
